3. Sampling and methods of analysis
Thirty two samples were collected from the outcrops and pits representing the massive and pisolitic–oolitic types of the ironstones in the Ga’ara Depression (Fig. 1). Polished thin sections were prepared and studied under reflected light microscope. The major elements were analyzed by X-ray fluorescence using duplicate fused disks and pressed powder pellets.
