The monkeys show an ironic contrast between the ideals they personify and the marital relationships portrayed.Mr. Kapasi and the monkeys receive their own form of a mini-tour of the American culture represented, strangely, by a family of Indian ethnicity, but not nationality.
The monkeys had reinstated their values. Mr. Kapasi finally saw the Das family as a devoted family. Their preservation was imminent and everlasting from his perception. Here at last, the Das family accepts the qualities the monkeys characterized.
