The Elovich model was that best described the adsorption
kinetic for ACb-MB system, showing the highest R2 values (0.9917–
0.9976) and the lowest Dqe values. Despite this model has been
developed to describe interactions between a solid/gas interface, it
has been effective to describe processes that occurs on solid/liquid
interface. The Elovich model takes into account that the real solid
surface is energetically heterogeneous and that the desorption
process and interactions between adsorbed species does not
influence the adsorption kinetic significantly [34]. The a parameter
is related to the initial adsorption rate. As can be seen in Table 4,
the a value is high, agreeing with kinetic data (Fig. 5), which
showed that the adsorption process reaches the equilibrium in
times of about 90 min, for all MB concentrations.
