Garlic is considered to exert different effects on health,
but there is only limited evidence for antimicrobial activity
of complex garlic or aqueous garlic extracts (Tsao et al.,
2007; Liu et al., 2010). In the in vivo experiments, feeding of
garlic did not prevent infection with A. pleuropneumoniae,
but alleviated the course and the outcome of an experimental
infection with A. pleuropneumoniae.
