Emeryville police shot and killed a woman along the city’s border with Oakland on Tuesday afternoon, authorities said.
The shooting happened after officers responded to reports of a “combative theft suspect” at 12:35 p.m. on the 3800 block of Hollis Street in Oakland, said Emeryville Sgt. Fred Dauer.
Dauer said officers were told by the reporting caller that the suspect was armed with a gun and had fled the scene.
Two officers reported finding the suspect a few blocks away in front of a storage facility on the 3400 block of Hollis. They confronted and shot the woman, who was pronounced dead at the scene, Dauer said.
