3.3. SPLE application for multi-residue analysis of OCPs
The availability of rapid and reliable screening methods is
an important pre-requisite for increasing the number of samples
to be analysed. The SPLE procedure that has been tested
on real and certified reference soils has the capacity for a
high sample throughput. Hence, it was applied for screening
of 13 OCPs in several soil samples collected from UAAIE
and some of the results for the soil analysis are reported in
Table 3.
14 reagent blanks were extracted to assess potential contamination
from extraction cell packings (glass fibre, Florisil
and sodium sulfate) without soil sample carry over. The blank
extraction runs were scheduled at the beginning, middle and
end of the extraction of the soil samples. An average signal
obtained from the 14 reagent blanks plus three standard devia-
