Great movie on a number of levels. Disaster movie, tokusatsu kaiju movie (traditional Japanese monster movie), criticism of the cluster of fail that resulted in Fukushima and commentary on US/Japan relations. Sure, you want to watch the new beam forming take out vast swaths of Tokyo, but the glimpse into Japanese government and crisis response is almost as fascinating. While there were plenty of "otaku" at one of the showings in Mountain View, this is the kind of movie that anyone could enjoy. Japanese wife found it "natsukashii" - sentimental in a fondly wistful way. Sempai, good movie desu.
