Japanese pear is grown by two methods; horizontal trellis culture and joint training methods. Horizontal trellis culture is the method with high efficiency of light utilization, increase photosynthate distribution to shoots and fruits, promotion of fruit growth and intensive management. Joint training method is the method with uniformity of tree vigor, early production, easy pruning and labor saving. This method can be combined with grafting to multiply the fruit tree and useless time. To produce seedless fruits in grapevine, they apply hormones and anti biotic substance to grapevine. Giberellin causes fruiting and seedless, cytokinin causes fruiting, while streptomycin causes seedless. Atsugi campus also produces high sugar content in Satsuma mandarin. There are three ways used to produce high sugar content in Satsuma mandarin including pot culture, raized bed (ridge) planting culture and sheet mulching culture. The three methods used are combined with water stress. Sheet mulching culture is the best way to maintain index of soil water (pF) around 2.5-3 while the cost of Raized bed (ridge) planting culture is very high.
