Heating bills to be a thing of the past
Steve Huber hopes that within ten
years most homes in the Paulsen
Valley will, like his, be free from oil,
gas, or electricity bills.
Huber's "geothermal" heating and
cooling systems transfer heat from
the earth to house in the winter
and from the house to the earth in
the summer. An antifreeze solution is
pumped 500 feet under the ground,
where the temperature remains a
steady 131 degrees Fahrenheit,then
heat is extracted from the solution.
