3. Results and discussion
3.1. Raw glycerol analysis
The concentration of glycerol in both samples did not show significant
differences (raw glycerol 1, 650 g L1; raw glycerol 2,
670 g L1). The analysis and comparison of their fatty acids content
showed that the raw glycerol 1 exhibited higher percentages of
fatty acids than those measured in the raw glycerol 2 (Table 1).
The lower content of fatty acids in the raw glycerol 2 indicates a
more efficient process of biodiesel production through transesterification.
It can be noticed that linolenic acid, present in raw glycerol
1, was not detected in raw glycerol 2.
