The present study revealed that the dead biomass of Spirogyra sp. could be used as a biosorbent to remove three textile dyes (BR46, BB3 and AO7) from aqueous solution. The biosorption capacity of the dyes was influenced by the pH of the solution, contact time, and temperature of three dyes onto alga was found to be in the following order: BR46 > BB3 > AO7. Such variability could be attributed to the different size and chemical structure of the dyes.
