As described by Zhou et al. [30], 50 L of the protein solution was combined with an equal volume of 0.5 M KCl, with incuba- tion at room temperature for 5 min. The samples were centrifuged (14,000 × g, 10 min) to pellet the detergent and the supernatant (100 L) was retained for analysis of protein recovery.
