Inappropriate medication uses is related to hospitalization in the community setting and adverse drug reactions (ADR). With gradually use of the tool, so it needs to carefully create and strengthen criteria by well-designed studies involving analytical approaches. Many medications were launched out to the market. Therefore, the researchers modified to 2012 Beers criteria with the updated evidence of PIMs. In this issue was classified medication into three categories, first PIMs and classes to avoid in older adults, second PIMs and classes to avoid in older adults with certain diseases and syndromes that the drugs listed can exacerbate, and third medications to be used with caution in older adults. The 2012 Beers criteria lead to a comprehensive, systematic review, and grading of the evidence on DRPs and ADEs12.
