Whole rice samples were ground in a cyclone mill (Cyclotec 1093; Foss Tecator, Hamburg, Germany) fitted with a 0.5 mm sieve. Lipid extracts were extracted with Et2O for 12 h from the samples using a Soxhlet apparatus. The solvent was then removed in a rotary evaporator at 40 °C, with the extracted lipid extracts dissolved in CHCl3 and stored at −80 °C until used. Extractions and analyses were performed in duplicate.
