In the United States, many peer reviewed studies show increases in yields of organic production as well. An eight-year comparison study of organic and conventional fruit and vegetable production conducted by the UC Davis Sustainable Agriculture Farming Systems (SAFS) project showed that yields from organic systems were comparable to or better than yields from conventional, fossil-fuel based systems.
