Not Burton's best. The visuals completely overwhelm the story and characters to the point that it is rather distracting. The story is also way too straightforward for Alice in Wonderland. The performances are fine, but no one really stands out. Depp was the driving force of the hype and I was a little disappointed that his character really wasn't much. Him and Burton have created magic before, but this is not one of those times. It can be entertaining for sure, but it's forgettable and certainly one of the lesser Burton collaborations. Hopefully the sequel can build off of this and deliver a truly wacky story.
