Bitrode Corporation has received notification from one of its suppliers that there may be a potential material defect with a part used during the manufacture of Model CV8-50-12 Serial #114230 at Yuasa Battery Thailand.

This suspect part is a terminal block used for connecting the negative battery lead to each circuit output. It is manufactured by Phoenix Contact with part number UT35 (Bitrode part number 09-30381).

Bitrode has received new replacement parts from the supplier and will soon be shipping them to your attention. Phoenix Contact recommends removal of the existing parts installed in your circuits, and to replace them with the new parts that will be sent (please reference the attached safety notice from Phoenix Contact). In the safety notice they have indicated that the potential defect in the terminal block may in the extreme case, lead to a fire hazard and, thus, the terminal block would no longer function. This loss of functionality may also affect the connected end device, creating a possibility of damage to that device. There are (8) of these terminal block parts in your cabinet (one for each circuit). The original terminal block parts must be returned to Bitrode.

The replacement of these parts should be fairly simple as they are installed on a DIN RAIL on each circuit heatsink slide assembly. There are 2-circuits on each assembly and each circuit will contain one of these parts at the negative output. Simply follow each of the circuit’s negative battery output lead connection to locate this suspect part.

The attached items in this email include the manufacturer’s notice, pictures of the suspect part, and an actual picture of the part locations as installed on a circuit heatsink slide assembly.

Please contact us if you have any questions regarding this part removal and exchange and we will help. Return the (8) suspect parts to the Bitrode address below. Use our UPS # 668 233 or FedEx # 262 288 811. We will pay for all shipping costs.

If you do not feel comfortable replacing these parts yourself, please contact us and arrangements can be made to have a Bitrode representative perform this service onsite if needed.

We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.
