Demographic characteristics of study participants
The nurses were predominantly female (958%), college
graduates (807%), atheists (613%) and single (603%).
Their mean age was 287 52 years, and 654% were
under 29 years of age. Of the nurses, 548% were working
in general wards, and 838% were general nurses. Regarding
their length of nursing experience, 401% of the nurses
had five years or less and 365% had between 5–10 years
of experience.
Levels of implementation of core KM factors
The total mean score for implementation of KM was
321, as shown in Table 1. For the five core KM factors,
the mean score for knowledge-sharing culture was 344,
which was the highest score. The mean score for organisational
learning was 33, the mean score for innovative
management leadership was 316, the mean score for the
nursing management system was 312, and the mean score
for the reward system for performance outcomes was
305.
Comparison of implementation of core KM factors with
respect to general nurse characteristics
As shown in Table 2, when the data for the total implementation
scores for core KM factors were compared with
the general characteristics of nurses, the results indicated
significant differences only between nurse managers and
general nurses in terms of position (t = 349, p = 0001).
