This early detection of CatB3 compared more favorably with other antigen-detection assays including that of Langley and
Hillyer (1989) who used rabbit antiserum to detect circulating F. hepatica antigen in experimentally infected mouse sera at the 1st week post infection. As well, Viyanant et al. (1997) who could detect circulating 66 kDa TA in the sera of cattle experimentally infected with F. gigantica at the 1st week post infection.
