I am usually not a huge fan of romantic movies, but Richard Curtis does a pretty great job in the genre, including directing one of my favorite romantic movies, Love, Actually.
This film isn't as good as that one and I didn't expect it to be. The plot is pretty cool for a romantic comedy and the two leads, along with the rest of the cast do a tremendous job and you really care for all of the characters.
The plot does take a few twists that were predictable for the genre and time travel aspect. The film also has some sad parts which I like, but it doesn't make the film feel as happy as I had expected. Overall a pretty solid romantic comedy that I enjoyed more than most in the genre.
About Time. This film stars Domhnall Gleeson, Rachael McAdams, and Bill Nighy, and is directed by Richard Curtis. This is film that I was very curious to see ever since I saw the trailer months ago and on a having been on a limited release for the last week or so and getting a nationwide releases tomorrow. I finally got the chance to see it and did not disappoint me one bit. I actually loved this film. About Time takes a common premise and turns it upside down by adding time travel into it. Does it work ? Yes. The script for this film is written so well its just perfect, its clever, and hilarious. The performances are top notch especially Rachael McAdams, Ive been a fan of her from the get go but she is just phenomenal in this film, worthy of an oscar nomination in my opinion. Bill Nighy's character is just plain funny and down to earth. Every scene is filmed beautifully and the cinematography is just gorgeous in this film. One of the best looking films I have seen all year, everything about it just looks and feels so real, along with an amazing soundtrack. About Time gets an A+.
