Of course it was much appreciated being upgraded to a suite. However, what good is an upgrade if nothing is working? First night, no air con, 2nd night, changed suites, but maintenance called 7 times. blow dryer blew out power in room 3 times. Card key not working. Coffee machine not working. Lamp in living room, not working. Outlet in living room not working. VStaff, sorry not the land of smiles. I would say, this is more closer to a want to be 5 star hottel. But it's not Hilton, Four Seasons or Inter Continental by far. The interior will fool you. Our suite was dirty! Photos to prove! Not once did the GM approach me nor get back to my requests to speak with him or her. I did get to speak to the asst. front desk manager. When asked if the hotel could check and see if there was a box on site, I was told with a frown to go and check with concierge! Really? 5 stars?? Our whole 5 days here, I was afraid to upset the staff by making any requests or letting them know that something in our suite, was not working, again!Unfortunate! We really wanted to love this Hotel we had high hopes upon our arrival. Hotel vouchers for comp drinks and 50% off Japanse dinner not given until the fourth night versus check in day. We could hear the noise and phones ringing from the next room and the suite above ours. Requested to speak to the General Manager several times, but was not successful in doing so. Over all speechless and very disappointed with this hotel. I have traveled to Bangkok many times, this is the first time I have ever had such service below standards. 5 stars???? :(
