Oral communication skills are essential for university graduates in their future roles as informed citizens and effective professionals (De Grez et al. 2009; Heiman et al. 2012). Online oral communication tasks (OOCTs) include real-time presentations, video pre- sentations, oral exams, podcasts, and interviews, when they involve oral delivery over an electronic medium (including teaching platforms such as YouSeeU and Blackboard). These tasks are instrumental for online learning, particularly the area of online oral communication learning (OOCL), which involves the development of communication skills through online or computer-administered means.
