(2) Content of the previous lesson
In the previous lesson students studied the following problem : “Suppose you want to divide 69 sheets of paper evenly between three people. How many sheets will each person get?" This made students think about how to solve 69 ÷ 3. They learned how to solve problems in which the numbers in both the tens and ones place of the dividend can be evenly divided by the divisor, 3. In problems like this, divide the numbers in each in the dividend by the divisor of 3, and then place those numbers in the quotient.
