The present authors have previously established a purification
protocol for Aspergillus glucans by NaClO oxidation,
and found that the proportion of α-1,3- and β-1,3-
glucan differed among Aspergillus spp. (21). It is of note
that the β-glucan content is less in A. fumigatus than in A.
niger and A. oryzae. In this study the effect of β-1,3-glucan
