For UVeVis spectroscopy, the sample of GO was prepared by
making the solution of 10 mg GO in 10 ml distilled water. During
the oxidation of graphite, the oxygen attaches to the graphene layers and thereby improves the polarity of the layers which, in
turn, often improves their solubility in water. This results in a
change of color of the solution from yellow to brown. The brown
color can be of different intensities depending upon the concentration
of GO. The GO that is established has an absorption peak of
216 nm for a well oxidized content in Fig. 4. The absorption peak
depends upon the oxidation of graphite [27].
