Effect of different substrates and nitrogen source on xylanase
production
Effect of various substrates on xylanase production by A. lentulus
was tested using various agricultural residues such as wheat bran,
wheat straw, corn cob and sugarcane bagasse. The composition of
these substrates obtained through acid fractionation and gravimetric
method has been tabulated in Table 1. Highest amount of
hemicellulose was present in wheat bran (52.7%) whereas the least
amount of hemicellulose was present in wheat straw (20.7%).
