Dihydropyrimidinone derivatives have attracted considerable
interest in recent years because of therapeutic and
pharmacological properties nowadays. For example,
they can serve as the integral backbones of several calcium
blocke channel rs,1 antihypertensive agents2 and
a-1a-antagonists.3 In addition, several marine alkaloids
containing the dihydropyrimidinone-5-carboxylate motifs
also show interesting biological activities.
