Seed treatments with metalaxyl and peat formulations of all
3 antagonistic bacteria as single or mixture of 2 or 3 isolates
significantly suppressed damping-off and root rot of cucumber
seedlings by increasing the percentage of healthy seedlings by
590%–810%, decreasing damping-off and root rot severity by
43.3%–56.7%, and increasing the mean plant fresh masses by 92%
to 245% over the infested controls (Table 3). The seed treatment
with a mixture of 3 bacterial isolates (9A-14, 8D-45, and 8B-1) significantly
increased the mean fresh mass of cucumber plants by
245% as compared with the infested control and by 61.4% as compared
with the noninfested control (Table 3).
