A number of studies have also reported the measured levels of the urinary
metabolites of a variety of pesticides used by agricultural workers in
Thailand.11,14–16 Several of these studies have also found measurable levels
of urinary metabolites of pesticides that have been banned in Thailand.11,17
For example, Panuwet et al.17 found urinary metabolites of methyl parathion
in agricultural workers from northern Thailand two years after the
import ban was put in place, despite the short half-life of this pesticide in
humans.
