illustrates the DOE methodology. The whole experiment was divided into two phases. A selection of the conveyor belt parts was realised during the first phase, i.e. during the preparative phase. The following step was a preparing process of the testing samples. The 8 testing samples were prepared together, taking into consideration the maximum measuring volume of the measuring machine. The second phase was focused on the measuring process and data evaluation in order to
determine the thermal degradation of the conveyor belt. The database was obtained in a graphical form thanks to a reconstruction and generation of a point cloud (slice). The analysis was focused on a monitoring of the crack depths that appeared
on the upper and bottom covering layer (top cover and bottom cover) of the conveyor belt.
