On the other hand, Pandit and Shelef (1994) studied the L. monocytogenes sensitivity to 18 spices and found that only rosemary and clove (at concentrations between 0.5 and 1 ml/100 ml) were listericidal. Comparing clove MIC and MBC values
obtained in this work with the results found by other authors, it could be appreciated that E. coli was more sensitive than Listeria to the action of clove.
