charoen pokphand foods plc has denied accusations by european advocacy groups of labour abuses involving migrant workers at two of giant plants .
in a two-page statement ,cp foods rejected claims by swedwatch and finn-watch that it had confiscated the passports of migrant workers who never received employment contracts .
the factories are in bangkok's min buri district and saraburi province.
'it is our long-standing policy that both employer and employee receive a contract. the issue may be that employees may have mislaid their copies,'' the statement said ,adding the company provides a free service to its workers,collecting passports, processing them and returning them,whichnmight involve delays
