Mineral insulating oil contains basic quinoline compounds and non-basic quinoline compounds that are classified as nitrogen compounds. Remarkable increases of the ECT were
not detected in alkyl benzene with either nitrogen compound, unlike the results for alkyl benzene with sulfur compounds.
However, reverse polarity was detected in alkyl benzene with some indole, imidazole and quinoline compounds.
