As fossils fuels become more and more expensive and harder to find, renewable energy will become cheaper as technology improves and the equipment is made on a larger scale. Unfortunately at the moment we don’t have enough renewable energy to replace fossil fuels, but hopefully that will change. Currently Britain only makes 2% of its electricity using renewable sources. However, the British government aims to increase this to 15% by the year 2020 and all of the countries in Europe have a combined target of 20% renewable by the same date.
