Supply chain vulnerability
The focus of this part of the chapter is internal and external risks to the supply chain. It is worthy of emphasis, noting that procurement should have a formal process for risk management. The five categories of supply risk, including lack of ownership and interim risks demonstrate why purchasing should take a lead. Reference to a Cranfield report and ten ways of managing supply chain risk is an excellent basis for a debate on supply chain risk assessment and subsequent management.
