As I am sure you will already know by now, your kind gesture to placate us was ltimately unsuccessful.
We moved along the road to the Sheraton Hua Hin after just two nights at Dusit Thani, Hua Hin.
This was not an easy decision as I recently broke my leg, am in plaster and find it difficult to get around.
Having to move was a huge inconvenience.
The staff were excellent, welcoming and very helpful. It was the food, the hygiene and the tired rooms that made our difficult decision easier to make.
• My son (2) got very sick on the first night and was up all night vomiting then my daughter (5) fell ill the following afternoon. We only ate at Dusit Thani.
The nurse was superb and looked after our son well giving him what he needed to relieve symptoms and to treat him.
• The terrace door fell off in my wife's hands on our first day in the room, luckily she caught it as it was falling towards our son.
• The minibar was not refilled during our stay.
• The batter on the fish was thick and doughy like bread rather than thin and crispy like it should be, the amount of actual fish was minimal.
• I had a really pleasant Pina Colada at "The Restaurant" but when I ordered one on the poolside it was awful.
I would expect consistency from one hotel outlet to the next.
• The beds are tired and offer little support and the rooms just seem old, unlooked after and jaded.
• The pathways from rooms to the pool are cracked and overgrown making access to the pool difficult and hazardous, particularly on crutches.
• The ants were back again and my wife also spotted a cockroach in our room.
I know these things are hard to contain in tropical Thailand but we have yet to see one at the Sheraton.
Thank you once again for your kind gesture but I guess we will have to chalk this spoiled holiday down to experience yet again and thank the Sheraton group for helping us to salvage something from our holiday.
