Effective management is imperative of the success of any business operation. Management is defined at the process of getting tasks accomplished with and through people. This definition of management is exceedingly valid for the hospitality industry because it is so labor intensive. Since the overwhelming majority of tasks performed in the hospitality industry are service by employee, management leadership and interpersonal skills are essential to the success of any hospitality organization. However, because the industry is so labor intensive the managerial function of the control process must be maximized for and organization to be truly successful.
