Hi Dr Don -
At the suggestion of your Receptionist, I am sending you a link to a website that describes BPPV symptoms & treatment.
Having had an initial "Spinning" attack at the beginning of last year, I have suffered attacks another 2 times. Those 3 times, I took diuretics & Slow-K for a week or so, and the spinning stopped. (The ENT specialist here in S'pore diagnosed Meniere's Disease)
However, the most recent Spinning attack (which began some 3 weeks ago) has only been partially cured using the usual diuretics & Potassium Chloride tablets; to purge excess water in my system. This time, I am still experiencing a sensation of vertigo (the ground feels like it is undulating beneath my feet) and although the room has stopped spinning when I am upright, there is extreme spinning sensation when I lie down, sit up in bed, turn my head sideways when lying in bed (!!!) and when I stand and look upwards. It's pretty much all the symptoms described as BPPV.
Anyway, I have made an appointment to see you this coming Sunday (though I may have to change it to later in the afternoon) in the hopes that you know how to manoeuvre those "Crystals" back to where they belong. If not, I'll just get my hip manipulated back in place and then go see an ENT at Bumrungrad Hospital...
Looking forward to the end of this unpleasant vertigo sensation.
