Procedure:
1. Aim the infrared thermometer at the oil inlet port and record the temperature reading. The temperature at the oil cooler inlet must not be more than 132 °C (270 °F).
2. Then aim the thermometer at the oil outlet port and record that temperature. The temperature at the oil cooler outlet should be 8 to 22 °C (15 to 40 °F) lower than the temperature at the inlet.
