Three reading log entries from each group were collected for analysis. Entries
ranged in length from one to two pages. The constant comparative method of analysis
was used for analysis of the reading log entries (Strauss & Corbin, 1990) to provide a
determination of major patterns in changes in the students’ reading comprehension.
The key words were sorted by the researcher according to categories which emerged
from the initial reading of the full entries and were refined during the sorting process.
