Three subspecies of H. perforatum, subsp. perforatum,
angustifolium and veronense, growing in similar environmental
conditions were studied; samples at different vegetative
cycle phases (before, during and after flowering) were
considered to evaluate the fluctuation of the major metabolites.
Comparative phytochemical analyses are reported for
H. perforatum subsp. perforatum and subsp. angustifolium
[8,9] and H. perforatum subsp. perforatum and veronense
[6,10]. However, the different methodological approaches in
the sampling and in the processing make these results not
comparable.
