In this study, ion exchange properties of copper, zinc, nickel, cadmium and lead on Dowex 50W resin has been studied by using batch technique and the results were compared with Amberlite IR-120 resin. The equilibrium ion at constant temperature. Preliminary runs showed that about 2h were needed to reach equilibrium. After equilibrium, the resin and solution were separated by filtration, the metal content of the solution was determined by AAS. The metal concentration in resin was obtained by a material balance.
