the conversion achieved with the grooved surface in comparison
with that using the smooth disk with an inter-disk gap of
0.20 mm. The conversions for the grooved disk are consistently
higher than those for the smooth disk. It is important to note that
for the results presented in both Figs. 17 and 18, the rate constants
used for the calculation of the predicted values of conversion vs.
disk speed are much greater than those in the literature [21] for this
same methyl esterification reaction.
