The main objective is to identify and define calls for R&D proposals to the
European Commission; such recommendations are among the main outputs from
SuperGreen. The EC seeks support on Green Corridor issues in their work on
implementation of the 2009 Freight Transport Logistics Action Plan, and, most
recently, the 2011 White Paper. What makes a corridor green, in terms of
benchmarks and key performance indicators? That is the subject of WP 2. Another
question is, How can available green technologies (WP 3) and e-freight solutions
contribute to make existing corridors green or even greener? If there are no such
existing green technologies or e-freight solutions, there is a technology gap
between what is available and what is needed to make the corridors green. This
gap could be a basis for future R&D recommendations to be implemented in later
calls of the Seventh Framework Programs. The main output of WP 5 is those R&D
recommendations, which again give important input to WP 6 (Policy Implications)
and WP 7, Dissemination and Awareness Raising.
