It is known that there is a positive correlation between temperature and species richness of zooplankton in aquatic environments (Matsubara, 1993; Castro et al., 2005; Hessen et al., 2007). In the present study, species richness of zooplankton is positively affected by increasing temperature, so our study supports the hypothesis that species richness of zooplankton is positively affected by increasing temperature. Salinity is much important factor affecting species richness in continental water bodies (Lancaster and Scudder, 1987; Derry et al., 2003).
