The ideal plant pallet for the Choctaw site would
include native plant materials only. This is ideal
because native vegetation will generally require less
maintenance that exotic vegetation types. Plants that
are well suited to a site's soil and climatic conditions
require less water, fertilizer, pesticide, and pruning, or
trimming, resulting in lower management costs.
Native plant materials also maintain the natural visual
character of their region. On the Choctaw site, using
native plant materials would keep Choctaw looking
like Choctaw and not every other homogenous urban
landscape
