Course
Adventures:
Team
Building
Activity:
As
an
assigned
team,
you
lead
the
class
in
a
team
building
activity
(10-‐15
minutes)
at
the
beginning
of
class.
Activities
should
be
professional,
while
showcasing
your
ingenuity
and
ability
to
foster
fun.
The
goal
of
the
activity
is
to
support
and
enhance
leadership
skills
and
effectiveness
in
groups
and
teams.
Team
Building
Protocol:
Each
team
writes
a
protocol
that
includes
step-‐by-‐step
directions
for
their
team
building
activity
and
a
summary
of
the
leadership
skill(s)/team
dysfunctions
targeted
with
the
activity.
Protocols
follow
the
format
decided
by
the
class.
Critical
Synthesis:
After
browsing
the
variety
of
magazines
from
our
class
library,
you
create
a
thoughtful
critique
on
leadership
components
observed
in
groups
and
teams
from
the
magazine
content.
Critiques
may
be
disseminated
via
written,
oral,
or
video
avenues.
This
is
an
opportunity
to
explore
your
innovative/creative
side.
Leadership
Team
Project:
You
will
be
assigned
to
a
team
of
five
members.
Each
team
selects
a
group,
organization,
project,
or
cause
to
apply
the
leadership
skills
learned
during
the
course
in
a
“real-‐world”
situation.
Each
team
is
responsible
for
the
following
components
for
the
team
project:
1. Identify
a
group,
organization,
or
cause;
2. Contact
the
group,
organization,
or
cause;
3. Develop
a
leadership
plan
based
on
the
needs
of
the
group,
organization,
or
cause;
4. Implement
the
leadership
plan;
5. Prepare
a
presentation
highlighting
the
project;
and
6. Prepare
a
report
highlighting
the
project.
