Aims/Objectives
- Write a clear statement about an individually motivated prospective project
- Define ideas about an individual project written as text
- Relate prospective thinking about the project to previous experience of project and related classes
- provide evidence of analytical and critical thinking about the components of the
project such as content, form, medium, objectives, influences
- Make these objectives available to others, lecturers and colleagues, as defining indications of intention
Methodology
Describe how you plan to conduct and develop the project. This may involve a combination of theoretical and practical
aims. The emphasis of this statement is very much on the nature of your thinking in relation to what you know, what are
your interests, and how your practical ways of working will realise these. By now you may be interested in particular
theory, or you may have been advised as to kinds of theory that may be relevant to your project. Your methodology
statement will reflect your particular approach and interests. This is the research basis of your project, which may reflect
either a theoretical or practical approach, or a combination, and will result in variety of practical and work, and your
ability to be able to speak about this.
References
Include mention of theoretical references, books you have and will read, have and will look at, artists whose work you
admire, films you have seen and will see, etc. Give some indication what these might be. In all cases, include some
description of why what you have listed is of interest. For example, if you mention a particular artist, describe why this
person and/or their work is of interest.
