In terms of performance, it can be concluded that the best responsewas shown by the 24-base guanine DNA sequence biosensor. This maybe due to the fact that carcinogens prefer to bind to guanine. This wasalso evinced when the 24-base guanine rich DNA sequence yieldedbetter response compare to the shorter 15-base guanine rich DNA sequence biosensor. Therefore, the biosensor using 24-guanine rich DNAsequence was further used for the detection of non-carcinogenic chemicals to determine this biosensor’s sensitivity towards potential carcinogens, as well as for real sample testing.
