Forty-two gerbera accessions from ProClone Biotecnologia 5Ltd. (http://www.proclone.com.br) and representing a wide
range of flower types and colors (Table 1) were sampled for a comparative analysis of the genetic diversity by molecular markers. The accessions called wild types (1–13) have flowers of no commercial interest and the remainder (14–42) represents genotypes with the desired characteristics of flower trade.
